Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world - Nelson Mandela.
When it comes to education and serving the best, there are no boundaries left for you. All the limits between your thoughts and actions are only from the mind. When these limiting beliefs come to studies, there is a very strong opinion that you can't study two different streams.
That too after studying MBBS and completing the specialization, will there be someone who might upskill in a whole different stream like law?
If you wonder, the answer to this question is 'YES.' Our wonder woman Dr. Rupali Patil Jain, is one of those personalities who strives to make this living space a meaningful one.
Her passion for her vision shows her up to higher levels. She completed her undergraduate in 1997 and had her field on the ENT surgery stream.
Her journey as an ENT surgeon wasn't a cakewalk. There weren't many female ENT specialists in her surroundings. Also, most of the patients were hesitant to get their treatments from a female doctor. This thought of the people let her do something greater.
She took loads of genuine efforts to get the trust of the people surrounding her space. She conducted many medical camps and ensured that her actions were louder than the people's limiting beliefs.
Though there were chances for her to move out to a city side to get more exposure, her aim stuck with serving her people. She needed that urge to serve the people striving for better medical treatments in that small town.
˜Humanity, service, and kindness is the best form of worship to god.'
These words from her grandfather left a deep impact on her. Maybe that's what led her to do her LLB.
While serving the people around her, she also wanted to extend her hands to help people. That's when she initiated an NGO to help out the victims of domestic and sexual violence. To help these people at best, Dr. Rupali Patil Jain wanted to learn the law.
'Necessity is the mother of invention.'
It is quite a strange thing for people to see a doctor doing her studies in law. The litigation on doctors was also increasing by that time. Also her daughter Riya was doing her 10th and 12th grades by that time. So, these two factors triggered her more with the intention to do LLB.
Being a full-time doctor and doing the studies at the same time was hard. But that didn't stop her. She used to travel almost four hours a day on transportation, complete the classes and serve her OP patients in the afternoon to evening times. She managed this hard routine for three years, throughout her LLB college days.
She kept her footprints stronger in a way that it will guide the successors. Once after completing her LLB, with that knowledge, Dr. Rupali did her counseling sessions.
She conducted a lot of counseling sessions to help and heal the victims of domestic and sexual violence. Alongside, she's also guiding her colleagues on medico-legal matters.
Again this journey of serving the people was also not a cakewalk. There were a lot of struggles and obstacles.
With these many things being done, she also has a great record of doing free surgery for 22 patients with a group of doctors from Tamil Nadu.
What is she doing now?
Dr. Rupali Patil Jain is serving as an ENT surgeon in Warud for the past 18 years and consulting with doctors in legal matters and even to survivors of domestic violence.
In this way, she is serving her best by following her grandfather's words. First, she became the first family doctor, which was a brand new thing for her whole surroundings. Then she went a step ahead and did her LLB to make the best for her people in the NGO. This move astonished not only her surroundings but also the people from her industry.
'Great things never come from comfort zone'.
As the saying goes, our Dr. Rupali Patil Jain has swum through many hurdles in both her industries. But, her determination stood firm. Even while running the NGO, threats were passing on. Only because she always had her eyes on the mission, and the reason was strong enough, she could do that.
Apart from her medical and legal duties, she's also bringing health awareness to people through her writings on social media. Apart from this, she also finds joy in her skills like singing Indian classical music, yoga, and cycling. Also, her love for traveling made her go to higher lengths in understanding the different cultures.
It amazes everyone when going through her education and the works. In short, with knowledge and passion as the strong base, she has built her castle with being,
- ENT surgeon and Allergy specialist
- Medico Legal consultant
- Legal counselor for victims of domestic and sexual violence
- CHD distinguished fellow 2021
- Career counselor
- Motivator
- Allergy specialist at Hitech critical care and Multispeciality hospital Amravati
- Medico-Legal consultant for Medical negligence matters with Jay and Company, Mumbai
So, be it giving a speech on legal aspects in medicine or a paper presentation at the international conference of Bioethics, she nailed them.
'Actions speaks louder than voice'.
Dr. Rupali Patil Jain made her voice an intense one with her intense actions. Her actions are inspiring a lot of people from her surrounding. Also, the impact that she left on the young girls from small towns to dream big is huge.
All it took for her to do this well is her strong mission. This would be your takeaway from this post to stay firm on your mission.
